Tonight is the first night of Guanacaste Nights 2020, the second edition of Town’s food festival where featured chefs create Guanacaste-inspired dishes. This evening is the Culinary Celebration, a seven-course dinner hosted up at Sentido Norte.
Last night, there were already celebrations of food and drink going on around town. At the Camino Flats gallery, Copper & Stone hosted a tasting of three Santa Margherita wines with cheese and charcuterie for friends and neighbors around Las Catalinas.
Later in the evening, Chef Ryan Hardy, Chef Jaak Toomslau, Chef Mawa McQueen, and Chef Monica Phillips arrived to stay in town. Together with Chef Gilberto Briceño and Chef Demian Geneau of Las Catalinas, the group took a tour of the kitchens with Chef José Lopez, before a seafood asado to kick off the weekend of cuisine.
This morning, the Guanacaste Nights team met over breakfast to discuss preparation plans, meet with support chefs, and begin meal prep for this evening’s festivities, which will all be wrapped up with plenty of time to before sunset cocktails at Sentido Norte at 4:30pm.
Enjoy tonight, and a busy day before tomorrow night’s Fiesta en la Plaza.
