In this Daily -- Surfing Conditions and Prehispanic Dinner

A sunny and clear day today, with a steady offshore breeze for most of the morning that'll flip around 3pm, bringing with it some much cooler temperatures by sunset. This morning and tomorrow will be great conditions for surfing, with low tide a little before sunrise, which is usually the best time to be out surfing. In this part of Costa Rica, this happens for a pair of reasons -- low tide leads to cleaner breaks, as the swell doesn't have to be quite as high to create exciting waves, and sunrise usually corresponds with much lighter winds, which help avoid choppy conditions and counter-waves.

Some photos from last night's Prehispanic Dinner today, courtesy of Head Chef Gilberto Briceño. Last night's menu featured a starter of Sopa de Piedra, followed by a Gallo de Mole & Picadillo de Raíces, and the main event of the evening, Costillas de Cerdo en Hoja de Bijagua. The cherry on top of the evening for dessert was Tamal Asado de Piña, a sweet and delightful exclamation mark on this trip into Costa Rica's culinary history. Delicious!
