Coquelicot is one of those beloved little treasures in Town.
Known for its delicious ice cream, refreshing sorbets, seasonal flavors, and of course, its waffles, this little spot has earned a special place in the hearts of many, especially the youngest residents and visitors in Town. In the afternoons, it is not unusual to see a line begin to form, with families, couples, and children gathering around the tables nearby to enjoy something sweet.
For many kids, it has also become a very anticipated after school treat. After leaving ELIF, some make their way over with their parents, hoping for a scoop of ice cream, a sorbet, or one of Coquelicot’s signature waffles.
Now, Coquelicot is getting ready for an exciting new chapter.
This Costa Rican, woman led business has continued to grow, and will soon move into one of the commercial spaces at Plaza Mercado, next to Las Catalinas Collection. Renovations began in June of last year, and the team is currently working inside the space as it continues to take shape.
It has been exciting to see the transformation unfold and to watch the vision for this new location become more tangible. The new space will offer a comfortable indoor area for those who want to stay inside and enjoy Coquelicot’s delicious products with A/C. Guests will also be able to sit outside at the Plaza Mercado tables, whether they want to enjoy a treat while their children play in the splash pad nearby, or simply take in the ocean views.
