Last Sunday was a full day in Town. In addition to the US Open Watch Party, Las Catalinas welcomed the Police Athletic League program and 57 teenagers from Potrero, Flamingo, and Brasilito.
This initiative, led by the local police, supports youth ages 12 to 19 who are in vulnerable conditions, encouraging sports and life skills to prevent violence and keep them away from risky situations.
The group arrived at 9:00 am and spent the morning in Central Park, practicing drills and playing soccer in preparation for upcoming matches.
Another group took to the volleyball court at Plaza Danta, serving, passing, and enjoying the game for a few hours. While others spent time at the beach and played in the ocean.
Las Catalinas donated jerseys and pizzas from Ponciana, which the kids enjoyed by the sea before proudly putting on their new shirts.
It was a day filled with activity, laughter, and good food. We are grateful to have hosted this special gathering and honored to contribute to the ongoing efforts of the police to support and inspire the youth of our neighboring communities.
