Central Park: Finished and Flourishing

Last Friday was an incredibly special day in Town. After 15 years of anticipation and two years of disciplined hard work, Central Park is officially complete. It is an achievement we consider one of our greatest sources of pride and joy.

As you know, the values of Las Catalinas revolve around freedom, movement, and community. That is why completing Central Park has been so meaningful.

Centrally located, Central Park serves as a vital link between Beach Town and El Prado, and as a hub for recreation and community life. It includes two tennis courts that also accommodate pickleball, a play area for children, a soccer plaza with benches and tables perfect for sitting or enjoying a picnic with friends, and more than 400 meters of landscaped walking paths. All planted species are either native or ornamental, carefully selected to respect and support the local ecosystem.

A key component of the project is the system of retention lagoons. These lagoons are designed to filter sediment from El Prado, ensuring that any rainwater reaching the ocean is clean and free of unnatural residue. Our proximity to the sea comes with deep responsibility. The wellbeing of the ocean and the surrounding ecosystem, including its plants, animals, and ecological dynamics, is something we take seriously.

We are proud to see how this space has transformed from an arid stretch of land into a flourishing green area. Central Park will not only provide a space for residents and visitors to walk, reflect, play sports, and connect, but also offer a new home for butterflies, birds, and other species that make Town so special.

We hope you will come by soon to walk its paths, greet your neighbors, and take in the beauty of this new chapter. This is a truly special place to be, a reminder of the joy of movement, time in nature, and being fully present.
