On the night of February 16, the team at Celeste experienced an unexpected and beautiful moment. Four recently hatched sea turtles were spotted making their way from the beach toward Paseo del Mar instead of the ocean.
The hatchlings were quickly and carefully gathered into a bucket and taken back to the shoreline, where they were released so they could continue their journey into the sea.
Fortunately, the team acted swiftly and remained attentive, checking the surrounding area to ensure no other hatchlings were disoriented. Thanks to their quick response, the turtles were safely returned to the water, where they can now continue their natural path and grow in the ocean.
The following day, our Environmental Director monitored the area to check for additional hatchlings and to help protect any new turtles from potential threats, including dogs or disorientation on their way to the sea.
We are grateful for the attentiveness of the team and for the opportunity to help safeguard the natural cycles that unfold along our coastline.
