Canela’s Little Adventure at La Estancia

La Estancia has witnessed the arrival, birth and growth of many animals that have gradually become part of its extended family. A few months ago, we shared the story of one of its newest members: Canela, a puppy adopted by the La Estancia team after one of the Pewsitive Yoga with Stray Dogs sessions organized by the Center of Joy and Halfway Tamarindo, a local refuge dedicated to helping stray dogs.

Canela is already quite a bit bigger than the last time we featured her in The Daily, and recently she found herself on a new little adventure.

The La Estancia team introduced her to Simba, the youngest horse at the stables, who is currently one year and six months old and gradually being trained to eventually join La Estancia’s horseback riding tours. Somewhere along the way, someone had the idea of letting Canela stand on Simba’s back, resulting in a particularly adorable meeting between two of the youngest members of La Estancia.

For a few moments, Canela became perhaps the smallest rider Simba will ever carry, standing comfortably on his back while the team stayed close by.  It was a silly and playful interaction, but also one of those little scenes that gets everyone laughing and adds a bit of unexpected joy to everyday life at La Estancia.

As Canela keeps growing and Simba continues his training, we have a feeling this might not be the last adventure these two share. Maybe not on Simba’s back next time, but with four little legs and four much bigger ones walking side by side.
