A Warm Week with Hints of Change in the Air

Looking ahead to the week of April 20 to 25, the weather around Santa Cruz is expected to feel very much like these last stretches of the dry season in Guanacaste.

Mornings will likely stay bright and sunny, with temperatures climbing into the low to mid 30s°C. Even near the coast, where the breeze helps a bit, the heat will still be part of the day.

As the afternoons roll in, we may start to see a bit more cloud cover, and there’s a small chance of light, isolated showers, especially toward the end of the week. Nothing too dramatic, just those early hints that the seasons are slowly beginning to shift.

Winds are expected to be a bit calmer compared to earlier weeks, though you might still feel occasional breezes here and there, especially in more open areas.

Overall, it’s a week that still feels dry, warm, and bright, but with subtle signs that things are starting to change. That quiet moment in between seasons that you can almost feel, even if it hasn’t fully arrived yet.

If a light shower does come through, it’s one of those small things to enjoy. After so many dry weeks, even a bit of rain can bring a touch of green back to the landscape, and your plants will likely take full advantage of it.

And with the heat still very present, it’s the kind of week where the beach continues to call. Mornings are also a great time to head out to the trails, before the sun gets too strong, especially during this time of year when shade is more limited.
