On June 29, La Estancia hosted an open volunteer day for Las Catalinas staff and members of the community, bringing people together for a morning dedicated to care, maintenance, and appreciation for this special place in Town.
Around 15 volunteers joined the effort, including staff from commercial partners such as Center of Joy, Las Catalinas Doorway associates, and members of the broader community. Throughout the day, participants helped with several improvement projects around La Estancia, each one adding to the beauty, warmth, and functionality of the space.
The group worked on cleaning, painting, and improving the stable area for the horses, painting the entrance door to the small casita at the arrival area, painting horseshoes, preparing small bags with ready-to-use soil for future planting, and refreshing several items around La Estancia, including outdoor furniture and other details that help keep the space welcoming for visitors.
Participants also enjoyed refreshments during the activity. As a gesture of gratitude, they received a horseback riding experience and a certificate of participation, recognizing the time and care they contributed to the day.
Thank you to everyone who took time to be part of this volunteer effort. Their work helped support the continued maintenance and beautification of La Estancia, a warm and welcoming place for residents, visitors, staff, and the community to enjoy, as well as a home for the animals we all love.
