This past Friday carried a special kind of excitement in Town, as one of our local businesses began a new chapter.
Coquelicot, the beloved ice cream and waffle shop that first welcomed guests from its little blue kiosk in Plaza Mercado, has moved into its new home. After months of preparation, María José, the owner of Coquelicot, and her team completed the renovation and officially opened the doors to their new location this past week, inside Plaza Mercado Flats, right next to Las Catalinas Collection.
For Coquelicot, this move marks an important step forward. The new space includes its new production center, as well as an indoor area where guests can sit, enjoy, work, or simply spend a little time together. With more room to grow, the shop will now also offer more ice cream flavors, with María José sharing that the new location will have 12 flavors available.
The indoor section feels especially welcome as rainy season settles in. On days when the rain arrives in Town and you still feel like having an ice cream, coffee, or waffle, Coquelicot’s new air-conditioned space offers a cozy place to sit for a while, watch the weather pass, and enjoy something sweet.
Coquelicot is open every day from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., welcoming guests into its new home in Plaza Mercado Flats. We invite everyone to stop by, visit the new location, congratulate the team, and wish them much success in this new stage, perhaps while enjoying a coffee, a waffle, or an ice cream cone in a flavor you may not have tried yet.
With much affection, we say goodbye to the little blue space that welcomed us so many times, while opening the door to new spaces, new memories, and many more sweet moments together. Coquelicot has brought sweetness, freshness, and joy to many warm days in Town, and it is a pleasure to see them grow into a space that allows them to welcome even more people.
