About a month ago, a new playful addition joined Plaza Mercado, creating another simple way for families and friends to enjoy their time in Town.
Over the past several weeks, the team at La Estancia has been working on a variety of projects, from repairing signs and restoring wooden elements throughout La Estancia and Town to creating something entirely new. As part of this work, the team built a set of two cornhole boards, which are now available in Plaza Mercado for anyone who would like to play.
The boards were placed in the plaza so they can be enjoyed by children, teenagers and adults alike, whether they are waiting for their food from one of the nearby businesses, spending time together beneath the shade, taking a break during a walk through Town or stopping for a little fun on their way to or from the beach.
Cornhole is an easy game to join, but landing the perfect throw can quickly bring out everyone’s competitive side. Players simply take turns tossing the small bags toward the raised boards, earning points when they land on the surface or fall through the hole.
So, the next time you are walking through Plaza Mercado with your children, family or friends, feel free to stop and play a round. The boards are there for everyone to enjoy, and sometimes a few friendly throws are all it takes to turn an ordinary pause in the plaza into a new Town memory.
