This Monday morning, two members of the Pura Vida Ride staff had an unexpected encounter on their way to work when they spotted a coyote calmly standing on the road between Potrero and Las Catalinas, on the way to Pan de Azúcar Beach.
The animal appeared relaxed and unbothered. One of the staff members even rode their bike quite close to the coyote, which remained calm the entire time before slowly moving away and disappearing into the nearby vegetation.

Coyotes are often perceived as dangerous animals, but in reality they are generally shy animals that tend to avoid human interaction. Encounters like this one are usually peaceful and brief.
This moment serves as a gentle reminder to drive and move slowly on the way to Town and along the surrounding roads. Our streets are shared with a wide variety of wildlife, from small crabs to deer and, as seen this past Monday, even a coyote. Being mindful, respectful and calm helps keep both people and animals safe.
