This past Saturday, August 22, alongside the incredible weekend we experienced with XTERRA, another very meaningful event took place in Las Catalinas: the tree planting initiative organized together with XTERRA, Abriendo Mentes, Coopenae, and Coopeguanacaste, which contributed 300 native trees for the activity.
At 1:30 p.m., the Nursery welcomed a wonderful group for another edition of the XTERRA Tree Planting Campaign, and we are happy to share that the afternoon was a great success. Together, representatives from XTERRA, the Las Catalinas Agroforestry team, and Abriendo Mentes’ full Environmental Brigade, made up of 25 children and teachers, joined forces to plant all 300 native trees planned for this year’s activity, continuing the work that began during last year’s event.
It was a beautiful afternoon of teamwork, learning, and hands-on connection with the landscape. Each tree planted will contribute over time to the recovery of the Pan de Azúcar watershed and to the natural ecosystem that surrounds Town.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part to organize and helped make the day so meaningful. Seeing so many young hands in the soil made this second edition especially memorable. We hope this is a tradition that continues to grow alongside the trees themselves.
