Saturday, November 10th, 2018.

Town has warm weather with temperatures in the high 70s and low 80s today, with a moderate breeze from the east throughout the day. Lots of sun starting around dawn, getting more overcast mid afternoon with a potential shower but clearing up around sunset. In the bay, expect a high tide at 4pm and waves averaging around 2.5 feet and peaking a little over 4 feet. Humidity is relatively low, the sky is clear, and it's an excellent day to be out and about pretty much anywhere in town.

This morning the free Dragon SUP demo with Pura Vida Ride will be going on until 11.30am, an event to help town get ready for the Paddle Battle next weekend.  It's running on the beach by Pura Vida Ride, and offers the chance for riders and up to three friends or family members to test out the massive Dragon Stand Up Paddleboards before the Dragon SUP race next Saturday. Riding the Dragon SUPs is a fun test of team coordination and balance, as each team member plays a part in driving, steering, and keeping the board upright, and with four paddlers the Dragon boards manage to go much faster than their single-manned counterparts.

This leads to the Dragons launching through the waves at high speed and producing some spectacular maneuvers...as well as some wipeouts. Fortunately, there's no need to worry about bumps and bruises from the board, as the Dragon is entirely inflatable, aimed to provide all of the excitement of high speeds without the headache.

8th Annual Pura Vida Ride Paddle Battle

Looking forward to seeing them in action next weekend, when we'll be welcoming one of the top Dragon SUP teams in North America, the Panamanian National team, to town to compete!
